grain-bunker-covers-4End of life polypropylene grain bunker tarp recycling

Thousands of tonnes of grain bunker tarps are disposed of into landfill every year. At the end of its useful life protecting grain in regional sites throughout Australia, the tarp often ends its life here, or left decaying on rural farmland.

After several harvest seasons, bunker tarp becomes redundant. As it is damaged and heavily contaminated with vegetation, mud and dirt, it cannot be reused, and is difficult to recycle.

GT Recycling has designed specialised recycling technology to process the heavily contaminated PP bunker tarp and recycle back into new plastic products.
